The Benefits of Working at Home

Work At Home Instead.com

Working at home is an option now available to more and more people all the time. The most recent statistics put working at home businesses at around 114,000,000 for 2005 and predict that figure to increase to over 138,000,000 by 2007. Working at home is not a trend that is going away as more and more people experience the advantages that come from working at home.

See if the scenario below describes your current "go to the office" experience.

THIS - Your Current Job

It's 5:30am and your "opportunity" clock has just gone off. From here, your morning routine is pretty simple:

  • Get out of bed (Shhh, don't wake up the wife!)
  • Stumble to the shower (How come we're always out of that shampoo I really like?)
  • Pick out a suit, shirt, matching tie and shoes - (Hey, do these argyle socks still work with a suit?)
  • Get dressed (Hmmmm, today is "casual day" at the office, I can't remember whether our shirts have to have collars or not; and do we have to wear socks?
  • Wake up the kids for school
  • Fix and/or eat breakfast (It's the most important meal of the day ya know!)
  • Read the paper (OK, where is the paper?)
  • Make sure you have gas, train fare, bus fare, whose turn is it to drive?
  • Travel to the office (Bus, train, auto, car pool, limo - yea right!)
  • Get to the office by 8:00 AM - OR ELSE!

8:00 AM - 12 Noon

  • Your boss wants you in his/her office NOW!
  • Where is that report you were to have done by this mornings meeting?
  • I thought that meeting didn't start till 9:30!
  • OK, I can do this, hurryhurryhurryhurry!
  • Whew, meeting finally over - who invited that consultant to the meeting?
  • Well, it looks like the whole team is working through lunch again - 3rd time this week!

1:30 PM - 5:00 PM

  • I hate that place we use to cater working lunches! - apparently, "No mayonnaise!" isn't specific enough!
  • Yes, it was a team effort, but those rewrites and changes to his management report are ready for the 2:30 PM meeting shortly - by the hardest! AND, we're all standing by in case we have to answer any questions.
  • It's already 3:15, somebody see where the boss is and what happened to the meeting.
  • Drat, drat and double drat! All that work for nothing! The management team left for a late round of golf, dinner and then home - BUT they left word for everyone to finalize the changes and be in extra early tomorrow (After all, they need to meet don't they?)

5:00 PM - 7:00PM

  • Called the wife to let her know that I would be home late, but now, I can head home earlier than expected.
  • The commute home is horrible! - extra traffic because the President is giving a dinner speech to the Chamber of Commerce
  • Home at last! - tired, hungry, grouchy and secure in the knowledge that tomorrow morning it will all start over again!!

OR, This (Your work at home career)

7:00 AM - 12 Noon

  • Got up earlier than usual so I could have breakfast with the kids. -- We have time to do this a lot now that I'm working at home
  • Put on another pot of coffee while the computer is starting up
  • Read my emails, send messages to all business referrals and spend 2 hours making phone calls
  • Read up on business trends and research the reviews for that new printer I've been looking at.
  • I think I'll eat lunch at Burger Doodle this afternoon so I can catch that new exhibit on working at home through the ages.
  • Wow, I had no idea that network marketing is considered mainstream now by many of the business schools.
  • And, I had NO idea that Robert T. Kiyosaki's (author of Rich Dad Poor Dad) newest book, The Business School For People Who Like Helping People, subtitled, The Eight Hidden Values of a Network marketing business, Other Than Making Money, is all about network marketing! - WOW!

1:30 PM - 5:00 PM

  • What a gorgeous day! Yes, I've still got a lot to do today, but I think I'll pick up my son from school and see if he wants to go fishing. We never had time to do much of that when I worked downtown at the office - but now, I can change my schedule to have more time with the family whenever I want.
  • The fishing was so good that we're having fish for supper. - I think I'll stop by the flower shop on the way home and surprise my wife with some flowers. -- Now that I'm working at home, we actually have time for "romance" again.
  • AND, now that I'm working at home, my schedule is totally under my control and I can work how and when I like!

And, there are other benefits from having a network marketing career working at home such as:

  1. No salary cap. I can actually be rewarded for how hard I work. As I learn to be more efficient and effective with my own time, there is no limit on how much I can earn.
  2. I can't be fired unexpectedly.
  3. My career is not affected by the dishonesty, laziness, or bad intentions of others.
  4. Network marketing is recession proof because people will always need the products and services I sell.
  5. I'm part of a team. Even though I'm working FOR myself (it's my own business), I'm not working BY myself. With the team, I enjoy the same kind of camaraderie as I did on my old job, but the big difference is that everyone on my team wants me to be successful as we become financially free and independent together.
  6. Since my work at home instead business is residual based, I get paid over and over as my loyal customers continue using and purchasing the products and services I sell. I make the sale once, but continue to be paid over and over again.
